No-Bake Oatmeal Bars

 
3 tbsps vegetable shortening
3 cups mini-marshmallows
¼ cup honey
½ cup peanut butter
1 cup raisins
¼ cup rolled oats
½ cup chopped peanuts
 
1.  Lightly grease a 23 cm (9-inch) square baking pan. 

2.  In a large saucepan, combine the shortening, marshmallows, honey and peanut butter and heat, stirring, until smooth. Remove from heat.

3.  Gradually blend in the raisins, oats and peanuts.  Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared pan. 

4.  Chill for at least 3 hours. Cut into 36 bars (or more if preferred) and wrap individually in waxed paper. 
 
Makes 36 bars.
