Chocolate Snowdrops

 
130 g butter, softened 
3 tbsps icing sugar, sifted
2/3 cup plain flour, sifted 
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 cup finely chopped almonds 
¼ cup icing sugar for coating 
 
1.  Preheat oven to 150oC (300oF). Use ungreased baking trays. 

2.  Combine butter and icing sugar. Add flour and cocoa powder and mix well. Fold in almonds. Chill until firm enough to handle. 

3.  Roll one tablespoon of dough at a time into balls. Place them 5 cm (2 inches) apart on the baking trays. Bake for 20 minutes. Roll in icing sugar while still warm. Cool on wire racks.
